Balaji Industrial Services has successfully implemented a new Energy Management System (EMS) at AMNS Power, Hazira, Gujarat, using the advanced GE iFIX 2024 platform. The EMS communicates with 254 energy meters over Modbus Ethernet and integrates 270 protection relays using the IEC 61850 standard, along with two Siemens PLCs, collecting real-time operational and energy data via OPC DA through WinCC. Selected critical data is shared with the plant DCS for monitoring and control, while all data is stored and analyzed within the EMS. The system is equipped with GE iFIX 2024 and Historian 2024, including Historian Trend Clients for detailed visualization and historical analysis. Advanced reporting capabilities are provided, including daily, shift-wise, monthly, performance, import–export, and energy balance reports, and a customized web-based dashboard enables authorized users to remotely access real-time and historical energy data, enhancing operational visibility, energy efficiency, and informed decision-making at AMNS Power.
